Announcement of Architecture focused 40th DevClub.lv

ARCHITECT ALL THE THINGS!
This time we will talk about very picky topic, we will make it feel simple and understandable. There won’t be any questions that you afraid to ask and we afraid to talk. Architecture will span from people to real implementation and of course, cache.

Come to Architecture focused event at 25th February 18:30, Zaļā iela 1, 4th floor (Microsoft Latvia office).

Agenda for Architecture focused 40th DevClub.lv:

  • Mārtiņš Šipenko from Kasko will give a talk “HTTP Caching in Web Applications”
    A talk about how HTTP caching features that can and should be used to reduce origin server loads and traffic whilst retaining very small cache expire times. More specifically will cover what basic http headers are used by standard cache devices and how they differ, as well as how can they be used in combination to achieve smart cache revalidation.

Mārtiņš Šipenko is an OSS contributor and author of couple of app/libs. Has been involved in web development for over 10 years, currently working as a software & systems engineer at Kasko. Focused on building high performance and scalable applications, using cloud technologies and microservice architectures. Over the past few years Martins has given speeches in universities of Latvia, community meetups and conferences in Latvia and abroad.

  • Maxim Sidorenko from Transact Pro will speak about Microservices architecture in Online Card Processing. Microservices is not only modern buzzword, but also well working idea with corresponding pros and cons. Talk is aimed at web developers (php, python, ruby, etc… )

Maxim is a system architect with more than 16 years of experience in industry. Being one of the first Go language pioneers in Latvia Maxim has launched a microservice-based financial system written in PHP and Go. His interests are high load systems, scaling, application containers and, of course, Go-lang.

  • Ruslan Zavacky from Kayako will speak about Software Architecture, what it takes to “raise” an architect and if you even need one. And who exactly is an architect? And mainly, we will have a focus on how to really deliver a software.
