It’s been a while since we had last event focusing on Machine Learning. Did you know that we have really good Machine learning specialists here in Riga? For example, Agnis Liukis was in 9th place in the world in Kaggle. Luckily for us, we can have Agnis as a speaker in DevClub.lv and also Dmitrijs Lvovs.
In addition, we will again have a “Kitchen” where everyone who wants can connect with audio and video and communicate with each other. We will make a separate room in Hopin platform for “Kitchen talks”. There is no need to specially register somewhere, just come to the event, and we will explain how that works. Those who are shy and don’t want to connect with video/audio to “Kitchen” can simply listen to those who will connect.

- Agnis Liukis from TietoEVRY in Latvia will give a talk “Competitive Data Science“.
This talk will touch different aspects of Machine Learning competitions and Kaggle. How to start competing, what are the pros and cons of investing your time in it, and some more. Also we’ll take a closer look at one Kaggle competition – what was the task and the main problems there and how did they get solved resulting in a winning this competition.

Agnis is a Lead Software Architect at TietoEVRY in Latvia with 15 years of experience in Software Development. He is also a Kaggle competitions Grandmaster with 5 years of experience in Machine Learning projects and competitions. This year he had less time for Kaggle therefore in ratings has moved to 33rd place from 9th. - Dmitrijs Lvovs from VIASMS GROUP will share some experiences on automated machine learning with examples from finance industry in his “Homegrown Auto ML” presentation on automating machine learning from data gathering to model serving.
