We believe that there would be hard to find somebody for whom September is not associating with learning. DevClub.lv always has been about learning, especially learning from experience of others. This time we thought that it would be good to focus the event on “how to become an IT professional (programmer, tester, DevOps, whatever)” and found people who can share how to teach programming to kids, how to re-qualify from nonIT to IT professional and how to help people with some knowledge in IT to become a real IT professionals.
This event could be especially useful for those who are just starting to find their way into the IT world. If you know someone who fits this description please share about this event to him.

- Antons Sapriko from Scandiweb will give a talk on “Education within the company”.
Antons will share about their experience how they were training people at the beginnings of Scandiweb and how that has evolved over years – from few mentors and practical tasks to education team and course materials. What were the challenges? What has changed during the time? What is the plan for the future education process? And more questions will be answered and talked about.

This talk will be personal sharing on career changing process and on results of personal research about career changing opportunities. Talk will be encouragement for those who can’t decide to the radical changes in their career and in the same time useful for everybody else who doesn’t think about career change at the moment.

Laura is a project manager at IT Education Foundation with almost 10 years’ experience in working in different fields and positions. She worked as client relationship manager for 5 years when decided to make radical change in career. In this summer she finished She Goes Tech Java bootcamp and still is in process to become a Java programmer.
- Ilya Karpovs from Lokalise will give a talk “Edutainment and programming”.
Some time ago, it was hard to find programming courses or good enough materials, so kids could learn on their own. But times have changed and now there are plenty of interactive media – tools, games, and educational videos. There is no need anymore to wait for the first courses of the university to learn programming basics. The talk will share experience about teaching kids programming on-site and remotely.
