  • Janis Zaharans from RTU Robotikas klubs will talk about “Robotics is cool”
    (Language – Latvian)
    An introduction to robotics – neccessary knowledges and skills to build a robot, what components do a robot consist of, and things to consider when building a robot.
    An overview of robots that have been built by RTU robotics club and their accomplishments in robot tournaments all over the world.

    Janis Zaharans is an enthusiast interested in robots and everything related to electronics and embedded system design. At the moment he works in his company Raksts Design and in Institut of Atomic physics and Spectroscopy as an electrical engineer. Janis also is a member of RTU Robotics club where he and other members build different robots and compete with them in both local and international tournaments. He is also into spreading his knowledge and skills to others by running a robotics club in Riga State gymnasium No.1.

  • Andrejs Olins from Accenture Latvia will talk about: “Start IT and Schools”
    (Language – Latvian)
    Strart(IT) educational programme for schools in Latvia – IT education in Latvia, problems faced, attempts to solve them, how well did we?
    The talk will be about the approach, technical solutions and marketing experience of this project. The project can be treated as a start-up, so there will be couple of insights of working with end users and leveraging their influence.

    Andrejs Olins is a Java developer with 10 years experience and an IT teacher since 2000. He works at Accenture Latvia as a technical lead and combines it with Start(IT) and also programming tutoring for scholars.

  • Eduards Sizovs from Craftsman’s Passion will talk about “Software Craftsmanship Essentials”
