  • Frederic Descamps from Oracle will give a talk “The Evolution of a MySQL Database System
    In this session, we cover the different deployment possibilities of the MySQL architecture depending on the business requirements for the data. We deploy some architectures and see how to evolve to the next one. The attendees will learn how to migrate from single instance to High Availability with Data Recovery across Data Centers with the minimal application downtime.
    The session covers the new MySQL Solutions like InnoDB ReplicaSet, InnoDB Cluster, and InnoDB ClusterSet. Attendees will get familiar with the MySQL Shell Admin API and MySQL Router.

    Frederic has been consulting OpenSource and MySQL for more than 20 years. After graduating in Management Information Technology, Frédéric started his career as a developer for a multinational company.. He will then opt for a different career joining one of the first Belgian start-up fully dedicated to Open Source projects around GNU/Linux. It is in 2011 that lefred joined Percona, one of the leading MySQL-based specialists and became a performance expert. He decided to join the MySQL Community Team in 2016 as a MySQL Community Manager for EMEA & APAC. Frédéric is also a regular speaker of OpenSource Conferences and technical reviewers for several books. His blog mostly dedicated to MySQL is

  • Andrei Dzianisau from  EPAM will be talking about “AWR  reporting. Enchance your db development and support”
    AWR is the tool that allows to provide analysis of issues in Oracle database occurred in the past including performance issues, objects usage statistics, resource intensive SQL statements.
    The topic covers the following areas:
    • AWR review 
    • Typical problems during troubleshooting Oracle database issues  
    • AWR reports analysis for developers
    • Enhance AWR analysis

  • Juris Trošins from DBA Competence Center will give a talk “PostgreSQL Service in Oracle OCI”
    In this presentation I’ll give an overview of new, not yet publicly available, feature to run a PostgreSQL as a native OCI service. I will shortly compare existing approaches to run Postgres in an OCI and will describe the architecture of new service as well as emphasize new features for performance, scalability and durability of it.
