We know that deep inside you hate most of the UIs built out there as we do, so how about to start with our selfs and make better UI and UX starting this year?

Come to UX & UI  focused event to start a new revolution at 21st January 18:30, Zaļā iela 1, 4th floor (Microsoft Latvia office).

Agenda for UX & UI focused 39th DevClub.lv:

  • Olegs Jarosevics from Accenture Latvia will speak about Essentials of usability testing and will show how to evaluate your design. Talk is aimed at people who doesn’t have experience in usability testing and don’t know where to start.

  • Līga Baltmane from Tieto Latvia will give a talk “Nike Riga Run – web application”
Six years in a row, event “Nike Riga Run” takes a place in Mežaparks, where thousands of enthusiasts and professionals comes together to train for the final marathon. Trainings lasts all summer where everyone can participate in different disciplines, for instance, running (5km and 10km distance), Nordic walking, Functional training outdoors, rollerskating. But what kind of tool do the “Nike Riga Run” administrators use to count so many participants in different disciplines, gain statistics and how it looks like from UX perspective, Liga will be exited to explain to you.
    (Language — Latvian)

After specialising multimedia design, web & e-concept development, touching the basics of UX practices and working as a graphic designer in Copenhagen, for the last year Liga has been taking attention to the UI/UX cases more intense. Since year 2015, working in Tieto office, in Riga. Today is a User Interface designer, when daly basis consists of different challenging and exiting projects and every single part of them is made for a valuable user interface experience with a nice design and functionality in front.

  • Vasiliy Popov from C.T.Co will try to find the answer to the question: Is UX a science or just an opinion?
If you spend more than 15 minutes on Google researching UX you will probably find something of the following: “15 (20, 50, 500) best practices for your mobile app (website, product)”, “Best UX trends in 2016 (2017, 2018)” and “How we changed this small button and conversion increased 10 times”. Most UX materials online are practical applications of interface elements that everyone copies from each other in the search for the best modern day UX. There’s very little research to be found. You can find it, but there won’t be much to pick from, which suggests that this monstrosity everyone calls UX these days is mostly based on opinions of individuals than on real science. Or is it?
    (Language — English)
