• Mārtiņš Ceplis from Pahris Entertainment will share some tales from the development of an indie game in “Space Wreck stories”
  Probably everyone who has played a game wanted to make one at some point in their life, and these days it is as easy as ever before. To make a game, that is. Getting anybody to play it – that’s a whole another story.
  Join Mārtiņš on a short retrospect over the development of an average amateur indie game, likes of which there are thousands coming out every year. The talk is in form of a few curious stories that characterize the whole ordeal and, in the end, perhaps will paint a faint glimpse of what it’s like to be an average indie dev in ’23.

• Andrejs Kļaviņš from Color Gray Games will share how they got “From a small prototype to a critically acclaimed indie game – The Case of the Golden Idol”.
  Andrejs was between jobs at the start of 2021 and together with his brother Ernest they decided to tinker with some indie detective game ideas. In a year’s time they landed an agreement with London based publisher Playstack and on October 13, 2022, they published “The Case of the Golden Idol”. The game unexpectedly was included in numerous best of the year lists of major media, and got both Independent Games Festival and BAFTA Games nominations.
  Andrejs will share how they made the game and what where key decisions for their success.

  Andrejs has over 10 years of experience in video game industry when in 2011 he founded social network game studio “Next Level” which published the commercially successful game “Oceania” in Draugiem.lv network. Professionally he is a mixture of product manager and gamedesigner. Despite having no professional coding experience, he developed “The Case of the Golden Idol” from scratch using Godot engine.

• Raimonds Ūdris from Exonicus will talk about “Exonicus VR Trauma Simulator”
  It is a serious gaming application intended for training military medics and simulating various situations. The presentation focuses especially on solving various VR problems encountered during development, particularly focused on solving UX problems.

I will share how we handle incidents when they arise and, most important, how we work with improvements to ensure not only that issue will be fixed fast and will not appear again, but also that we are prepared better for any similar major incident in the future.
