In our life April is month of FrontCon and we are lucky to have two more FrontCon speakers at DevClub plus Toms will share his experience how he manages to work from home with 3 kids.

After last DevClub.lv (which was 1st online DevClub.lv meetup in history of universe) some attendees suggested to make channel where you – attendees can discuss presentations and probably other issues as well. Therefore we made DevClub.lv Slack channel. Everybody is welcome to join.

• Doug Sillars will give a talk “Video Killed My Data Plan: Delivering video that doesn’t break the web“. Don’t be confused that talk with similar title was presentet at FrontCon 2019, now it is 100% rewritten.
  Video is one of the fastest growing mediums on the web and in mobile applications. Video files have been shown to increase engagement, and can be a great way to deliver your message quickly. (And who doesn’t love animated GIFs?)
  However, video that takes a long time to start up leads to frustration and abandonment. The same goes for video that stalls during playback. In this talk, you’ll learn best practices to optimize the delivery of your video to you customers, ensuring fast delivery and minimizing stalls for a great customer experience.

• Jemima Abu from  Telesoftas will give a talk “Redux Middleware for React Applications”.
  In this talk, we’ll use the Redux Observable middleware to connect actions and reducers in the Redux store and carry out asynchronous operations such as fetching data or periodically updating the state. This talk is suited to intermediate developers and requires prior knowledge of React and Redux.

  Even though JavaScript is a single-threaded programming language, modern features like Web Workers, WebAssembly, Worklets, and Service Worker allow us to leverage multithreading computing to run tasks parallelly which at the end, makes the user feel like in a rainbow paradise! In this session, I am going to demonstrate my practical (seriously no theory!) experience running jobs in parallel for a javascript application that will provide a pleasant user experience and exciting development.

2) If you don’t have MS Teams app on your computer already, we recommend to press “Cancel” on the pop-up window “Open Microsoft Teams” and choose the option “Watch on the web instead”.

If you have the MS Teams app on your computer or you want to download it, you can also do it and follow the same instruction as for the web version.

3) If you have the free MS Teams account or don’t have the MS Teams account, you should click on “Or Join Anonimously” in the next step. You don’t need to create a new account for this LIVE event.

If you try to sign in with your existing free account here, most probably you will be redirected to this page again and again and will not be able to join.

If you have a paid MS Teams account, you can log in with your credentials and it should work. If it does not work for some reason, choose the option “Join anonimously”.
