• Aleksandrs Krjukovs from Mintos will give a talk about starting a payments solution from scratch.
  Aleksandrs will talk about the payment handling and AML domains, the thought process behind some architectural decisions and the approach to automation:

• Valery Leushin from F3 will give a talk about making microservices backend using GRPC, his experience of orchestrating and running it in production.
  F3 is a Latvian startup, social network with more than 25M users worldwide, build and maintained by a small team of developers. Valery will share some of its technical secrets. Talk will touch on GRPC, its best practices, design decisions, functional composition using RxJava, basic resilience patterns with Resilience4j.

• Hanno Jarvet from Jarvet Consulting will give a talk “Introduction to: How to predict and manage towards multiple futures.”
  The future is already here – it’s just not very evenly distributed. (William Gibson) Technology is now an integral part of any organisation’s future. This places new demands on CIOs and CTOs to:

For more than half a year, Covid-19 has been impacting our lives tremendously. In Latvia, 2 applications have been developed in order to help limit the spread of coronavirus. Various opinions have been expressed regarding the use of these applications and how Covid-19 restrictions are impacting society’s psyche. • Uģis Lazdiņš from MAK IT will give a talk about the “Apturi Covid” application and its significance in slowing virus spread.
  Uģis will talk about the contact tracing as one of the ways to trace and control the spread of virus. He will also introduce different approaches of the tracing algorithms, their privacy tradeoffs, and the technical details of the Apple-Google Exposure Notification framework, that is currently used as a core algorithm of “Apturi Covid”

• Nicolas Frankel from Hazelcast will share experience on “Introduction to data streaming“.
  While “software is eating the world”, those who are able to best manage the huge mass of data will emerge out on the top.
  The batch processing model has been faithfully serving us for decades. However, it might have reached the end of its usefulness for all but some very specific use-cases. As the pace of businesses increases, most of the time, decision-makers prefer slightly wrong data sooner, than 100% accurate data later. Stream processing – or data streaming – exactly matches this usage: instead of managing the entire bulk of data, manage pieces of them as soon as they become available.
