• Jan de Vries from 4DotNet will share experience on “Using Azure Managed Identities for your App Services“.
  He will show you what needs to be set up in your application and AAD to get you started. When everything is set up correctly you can manage the access to all of your API’s via Azure Active Directory and even restrict access to specific endpoints if you want.
  You’ll leave this session knowing how to set up your services by using the built-in capabilities of Azure and make your complete environment more secure and easy to manage.

• Erwin Staal from 4DotNet will share experience on “Network security with Azure PaaS services“.
  He will share some of the things he learned while implementing network security at his current client. We will start with a short introduction to the basics of networking in Azure. He will present to you some best practices and tell you about some of the limitations you need to know before getting started. We will talk about how you for example can lock-down your API or SQL-server. To do that we will use relatively new Azure offerings like Service endpoints, Private endpoints, and VPN connections.

• Doug Sillars will give a talk “Video Killed My Data Plan: Delivering video that doesn’t break the web“. Don’t be confused that talk with similar title was presentet at FrontCon 2019, now it is 100% rewritten.
  Video is one of the fastest growing mediums on the web and in mobile applications. Video files have been shown to increase engagement, and can be a great way to deliver your message quickly. (And who doesn’t love animated GIFs?)

  “Managing the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure by using just the Cloud Console can get out of hand very quickly due to the vast amount of resources and their interdependencies that need to be controlled. It leads to weakened security, reduced availability or human mistakes in infrastructure management. Terraform – an open-source infrastructure as code software – allows solving many of these issues. This presentation will explain the basics of working with Terraform and will provide hints and examples for using it with OCI.”

• Krišjānis Mežulis from Mapon will give a talk “The process of sustainable design”.
  Product design has come a long way, and it’s currently being challenged to see whether it’s possible to use it to maximise the positive impact on a userbase. What makes a product sustainable? What determines a successful product design and how it’s perceived the user? What to look for when implementing digital solutions? Krišjānis will share real-life examples on how Mapon gathers, understands and uses valuable user experience data to make its products more easy-to-use. He’ll also share the importance of seeing the positive impact of user analysis on the design process and evaluating results.

  Krišjānis holds the position of the Lead Product Designer at Mapon and is working on designing fleet management solutions and other core product design made by Mapon. He began his path as an Art Director in multiple agencies and slowly moved to a more product-focused approach to design. Krišjānis joined Draugiem Group 6 years ago and worked on multiple projects that were only at the early stage of development at that time. Then, after 3 years, he became a part of the rapidly-growing Mapon team and worked on reforming the entire product design approach. In his free time, Krišjānis enjoys pushing his limits in orienteering and organizing rogaining races.

  React Hooks are functions that let us hook into the React state and lifecycle features from function components. By this, we mean that hooks allow us to easily manipulate the state of our functional component without needing to convert them into class components.
